The fully web-based platform comes with a completely redesigned interface and is now remotely accessible from any device.
What’s actually changed?
New User Interface & Web Client
✓ Modern Look & Feel – New and updated design language brings a fresh look and feel into their product, and mirrors the quality of TeamViewer’s service.
✓ Web First – The new web client bridges the gap between desktop and browser, and is now fullfeatured.
✓ Enhanced Productivity – Most important user journeys are re-thought and more accessible with only a few clicks.
TeamViewer Support Sessions instead of ID & Password
✓ Intuitive – Both parties need to enter a support session, which is similar to, e.g. meeting tools such as MS Teams.
✓ Security – Support sessions are disregarding IDs and password, which could be re-used, photographed, etc.
✓ Invites – Link and session code can be shared via various channels incl. WhatsApp, or directly via email.
✓ ID & Password can still be used – Users who prefer ID & password can still use this way of establishing a remote
session. They are displayed in a separate menu, where they cannot be captured by a “passer-by”.
Expert Information
✓ Transparency – Participants see where the expert is connecting from, see their email address and whether they are using a licensed or a free version.
✓ Preventing human error – Clear messaging asking the participant to exercise caution when accepting incoming remote sessions.
✓ Preventing misuse – Expert Information helps identify malicious actors to prevent them from gaining access to a participant‘s device.
✓ Trust – Companies can provide a powerful remote access solution knowing that this added transparency will increase users‘ awareness.
Account Gate, Social Login, and Guided Onboarding
✓ Preventing misuse – An account gate discourages malicious actors from using the platform, making TeamViewer an overall safer place.
✓ Personal encryption key – When using an existing MS or Google account, users will be asked to set an additional personal encryption key. If their MS or Google account information gets leaked, their TeamViewer login is still protected.
✓ Guided onboarding – Users will receive a guided onboarding that also asks them to set up two-factor-authentication, preventing misconfiguration and increasing security.
Integrated Remote Monitoring and Management
✓ Device monitoring – Provides early recognition of issues in the IT infrastructure and sends alerts when a device required an expert‘s attention.
✓ Asset management – Gives an overview of all deployed hardware and software, pulls real-time device information such as IP address, OS, etc..
✓ Software deployment – Experts can deploy software to multiple devices at a time. Installations are rolled out silently in the background with no disruption for end users.
✓ Patch management – Detects vulnerabilities due to outdated software and enables the expert to deploy missing patches manually or automatically.
✓ Integrated experience – Remote monitoring and management functionality is easily accessible from within the TeamViewer Remote client.
